8/22/2013 - Robbery 2nd Degree

At approximately 6 p.m. Thursday, August, 22, Frankfort Police received a report of a robbery in the South Frankfort area. Two juveniles reported that a male suspect, approximately 6 foot 2 inches tall, medium build, with short dark hair, white/Hispanic, wearing dark, possibly red shorts and carrying a blue and white striped shirt over his shoulder stole money from them and assaulted them when they asked for its return. The juveniles reported that as they walked in South Frankfort, the perpetrator asked for change for a bill, took their money, and began to leave. The juveniles at this point asked for the return of the money, and the perpetrator began beating them in the head and facial area causing injuries. He fled the scene on foot. Police are asking that anyone who may have information on this case to call them at (502) 875-8523.

5/19/2013 - Burglary Circle K Food Mart

At 5:30 AM, on Sunday, May 19, 2013, police responded to a burglary complaint at Circle K Food Mart located at 172 Versailles Road.  Responding officers were told by the employee who arrived to open the store that she found the safe and registers open and empty and the security panel was damaged.

Subsequent review of the store security video revealed that a white male perpetrator, approximately 6’1’’ tall, weighing approximately 185 lbs forcibly entered the store and opened the safe and registers.  In addition, quantities of cigarettes were stolen.

5/7/2013 - Robbery Speedway

At 8:52 PM, on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, police received a report of a robbery at Speedway, located at 387 Versailles Road.  The victim clerk told police that one perpetrator armed with a large knife, entered the store and demanded money from the register.  The suspect then fled, apparently on foot, with an undetermined amount of cash. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit assisted and searched the area.

The perpetrator is described as a white/male, 5’8’’-5’9’’ tall, 180-190 pounds, with short strawberry blonde hair.  He was wearing blue jeans, a blue t-shirt, and his face was covered with a blue sleeve apparently cut from his shirt. He also has a tattoo on his left (arm) bicep.

4/9/2013 - Thornhill Learning Center Burglary

On Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at 2:20 AM, police received an intrusion alarm at the Thornhill Learning Center located at 700 Leslie Avenue.

Responding officers discovered that forcible entry had been made to the building and observed a suspect in the back fenced area of the center.  Officers saw the perpetrator putting I Pads into a bag.  When the suspect saw the officers, he dropped the bag, jumped the fence and ran.  Officer pursued until they lost contact with him as he ran between houses on Henry Street.  Description is as follows;

 

Black male, approximately 140 pounds, wearing dark clothing.

 

Officers recovered the stolen I Pads, burglary tools, and physical evidence from the scene.

3/25/2013 - Capitol Plaza Hotel Robbery

At 9:00 AM on Monday, March 25, 2013 police responded to a complaint from the Capital Plaza Hotel, located at 405 Wilkinson Boulevard.  The reporting victim, an employee of the Hotel told officers that as went into the parking area, he observed a white, male subject in the process of stealing his car.  As the victim ran to the automobile in an attempt to prevent the theft, the perpetrator struck the victim with the car as he was escaping.

The perpetrator was described also as wearing a black coat and hat.

The vehicle is 2000 green Buick with a Kentucky license plate of 355-AGA.

On Thursday, March 21, 2013, police received a theft report from Kroger, located at1309 US 127 south.  The 83-year-old female victim told police that her wallet had been stolen from her purse by an unknown suspect, while she was shopping.

Within a short period of time officers learned that the victims credit cards had been used at the following locations;

 

Wal-Mart; for the purchase of a Gateway laptop computer valued at $ 421.88

 

Applebee’s Restaurant; for the purchase of gift cards valued at $100.00

 

Marathon on Leonardwood Drive; (attempted) for the purchase of cigarettes valued at $95.19

 

The suspect is described as a black, male 6’3”, heavy build, possibly in his 30’s with a thin chin line beard.  The suspect was wearing grey sweats and glasses.

 

Store security cameras from Wal-Mart show the perpetrator getting out of the passenger side of a white Chevrolet Impala.

3/21/2013 - Theft & Fraudulent Use of Credit Cards

Additional information on the description of the black/male perpetrator who stole the 83-year-old woman`s credit cards and used them at Wal-Mart, Applebee`s & Marathon;  he has 4 gold front teeth.

3/18/2013 - Cruelty to Animals

On Tuesday morning, March 19, 2013, Frankfort Animal Control received a complaint of an abandoned puppy on Kentucky Avenue.  Employees of the Frankfort Sewer Department stated  they had observed a white female (5’2”-5’6”, blonde hair, slender build, operating a late model silver Chevrolet SUV) park near the entrance to the Plant.  They further stated she got out of the vehicle carrying a box and walked over the bank towards the river.  She returned a short time later without the box and drove away.

The witnesses went to retrieve the box and investigate.

They discovered a small Chihuahua puppy and notified authorities.

A veterinary examination determined that this 5 week old female puppy, if not discovered by the witnesses, would have likely died.

The Frankfort Police Department currently has an active criminal investigation (Cruelty to Animals 2nd Degree) in this incident and is asking that anyone who may have information on this crime to please call them at (502) 875-8523.

10/22/2012 - Arson

On Monday October 22, 2012 at 9:53 pm the Frankfort Police Department was dispatched to a structure fire at the Cash Express located at 210 Versailles Road.  The fire appeares to have been intentionally set.

8/29/2012 - Burglary

Whitehead-Hancock Plumbing located at 417 West Second Street was broken into and numerous items were taken.  The unknown person(s) gained entry into the business by breaking out a window in the back area of the property.  The perpetrators stole several thousand dollars worth of large hand tools and equipment which included the following:

North American Diesel Generator

Wacker Concrete Saw

North American Pressure Washer

Bosch Rotary Drill
